Feel like I'm eating more with MFP?

Ever since I started using MFP to track calories, I feel like I'm eating even more than usual and not losing any weight. I have my calorie goal at 1,200 calories have not been exceeding it, except for one day when I ate 1,300. I've been making healthier food choices (ex. grilled chicken breast w/ vegetables instead of fast food), but I still feel like I'm eating more food than ever. I've been working out for an hour everyday too.

You should probably look at your body fat percent from beginning to where you are right now. Sometimes when we work out we gain muscle depending on the type of exercise. As you know, muscle weighs a lot so the weight may be attributed to that. I find that the body fat percentage is what keeps me going as opposed to the scale.

Actually since you're not losing weight, you may need to actually eat more. If you're eating 1200 calories, and working out an hour a day, it sounds like you're not eating back your exercise calories. How much do you burn in a workout? Let's say you burn 300 calories, that means after you get done eating your 1200, your body is only netting 900 calories since you burned 300 off.

When your body does not get enough food, your metabolism slows down to preserve energy and fat. The slower your metabolism, the harder time you'll have losing weight. I know you said you feel like you're eating more, but that's because you can eat a higher volume of low calorie food, than high calorie food.

Think about your old ways, if you ate fast food, for 1000 calories you could eat probably a big mac meal....that's it, a burger, fries and a coke. But think of all the healthy food you can eat for 1000 calories.

So try eating your exercise calories and see if that doesn't change things.

-You are eating more food- 1200-1500 calories of healthy food is a LOT more in volume than 2200 calories of crap.

    -When did you start?
-You CANT eat just 1200 calories AND exercise for an hour a day; you are hurting your body.
