Anytime I try running or standing for a long period of time*I just got a new job where I have to stand for 10 hours straight*, my knees start to hurt. I don't have medical insurance yet, so I can't afford to go see a doctor. But does anyone know of any good knee braces that would help???

If you can not afford to go to the dr. You next bet would be to go ask the sports medicine coach/person at a high school / college. They would probably know the best brace for you to get. Getting the wrong brace can further damage your knee. SO I would be cautious of taking advice from anyone who does not know what your knee is doing. Coaches usually do not mind helping out and it wouldn't cost you a dime!

Saw your post and can feel for you because I have some really bad knees. There is nothing short of complete replacement for me, but it does help if I wear elastic reinforcement. The type I find that works best for me are the kinds that are made from the same material as scuba wet suits...neoprene I believe. They provide some lateral reinforcement and make it easier for me to exercise, but I will never be able to run again, even with the heavy duty knee braces provided by the military. Hope that kind of helps you. Hang in there.
