Im about to go try my first hot yoga class and I was wondering if anybody knows how many calories are burned in a 90 minute class? Anybody else try it before?

If you search the forum for “Bikram Yoga” you will find several posts about this. Online there are huge estimates for the calorie burn of Bikram, often as high as 1100 calories and hour. However, most seem quite skeptical about this. The toning and restorative benefits of Bikram are pretty undisputed, though. The general consensus is to log it as regular yoga and no more than 600 calories. If it burns more, consider it a bonus. And do not forget to rehydrate!0

I've only gone once and I burned a little over 400 calories in a 60 minute class. It was Hot Hatha Yoga...they also have Hot Power Yoga which may burn more.
Oh, and I used my HRM to make sure I got an accurate burn.0 -
Yeah I heard you could burn up to 1200 calories, but I think that varies from person to person. Thanks on my way now wish me luck!0
