What do you treat yourself with?

When you have reached a goal, or worked out hard, or need a pick me up, what do you treat yourself with? I don't like sweet things like cakes or chocolate, so I don't have those, really. I do love crisps/chips, but I know how bad they are for me, so I try not to get them, and limit myself to stealing a few of the children's occasionally.
In a non-food capacity, my husband gets me sports clothes/equipment as presents, to keep me motivatedOver the past 8 weeks I have had to replace everything with a size smaller. Or possibly he's hinting I have more weight to lose.......

one should never reward themselves with food---go for pedicures, manicures, things of that nature--but never with food.

Maybe a massage, or like a little road trip :)

I like to have a cold beer or two after a long run (5k or above for me). AFTER re-hydrating of course :)

I'm going to need to treat myself to a new belt and pants that fit soon. And smaller shirts :D
  • When I reach my goal weights, I reward myself with things such as manicures, jewelry, clothing, shoes, ect. When I reach my final goal weight, my reward is going to be a belly button piercing & a tattoo. :)

Definitely clothes or beauty treatments, or a day out somewhere nice. Never food!

I wanted to treat myself with a pedicure and massage once I lost 15 lbs...I've been stuck at 13 pounds. LOL. I'll really enjoy my "treat" now...since I'm having to wait for what seems like forever to get there! :)

dont think as food as treats to reward yourself when you do something good. it's a bad habit and one that can leave you unstuck.
Think about new gym gear, massage, a haircut, a facial, or something fun you want to try but havent had a chance to or time to try - like indoor climbing, salsa dancing, jet boat riding.

Stay on track and it will be easier :)

Beauty treatments, alcohol and GoodWill clothing (why pay full price when I'll have to replace it in 2x months anyway?)

    Beer!.....
  • Hmmm, I think I may be missing out here... I've not thought of rewards. I feel like I haven't done too much that's all that great or reward-worthy. I think I need to shift my thinking a bit and set some "mini-goals" aside from my goal weight.
  • A long hot shower is what I reward myself with. I never have time to just enjoy the shower so on days that I have worked really hard I tell my husband and daughter that I do not want to be disturbed for a half hour and put on music and just sit there (we have a seat in the shower) and let the extra hot water relax me! I know its silly but the little things that I bypass mean more than food does to me.

I don't think of food as a reward, I just know that a lot of people do. As I said I don't actually like any of the things most people think of as "treat" food. But then, I can't stand the idea of a manicure or pedicure either! I have no nails. The closest thing I get to a treat at the moment is getting my legs waxed once a month, which isn't exactly pleasurable!

I tend to "treat" myself to things as I want them - new exercise equipment, even new workout socks (ha!), workout dvd's or wii fitness games... those all go a long way to keep me motivated too!

The one thing I plan on doing when I reach my goal weight is go in for a bra fitting at Nordstroms and go all out buying new ones. :) It should be good timing as I'm on schedule to hit goal in November, and our new Nordie's will be just opening their doors at that time. It's fate.

I have two different types of rewards: Every 25 lbs - Shoes; every 10 lbs an itunes song (I have $150 worth of songs on my wish list):glasses:

I buy skincare products or makeup. I don't reward myself with food.
