Just look at my picture I go to get my hair cut (mind you my hair was below my back bra fastener) I told him I wanted it layered but I wanted to keep alot of length....what did he do, it's barely below my shoulders :grumble: sorry just devastated because it took so long to grow it out and I was planning on giving it to locks of love in two years...

I think it looks great too! I feel your pain though. Two years ago I went in to have my hair cut (15 inches to locks of love) and have a some layers added. After he cut off the ponytail for donation he just kept on going!! It *barely* brushed the tops of my shoulders when he was done. I was devastated  . Two years later its just as long as it used to be and I barely remember that horrible haircut! :flowerforyou:0

I am sorry I really wanted to do that but it will probably take me another year later on top of the two it might take to grow out to donate0 -
Your heart is in the right place....you may not have the "locks" to give but you can always give something else....clothes, sanitary goods, canned goods...etc...thank goodness there are people like you out there...0

It will take a while but it will grow out but it's a worthwhile cause- it looks very healthy so it will be appreciated by whoever gets the donation0

Check out Pantene's program. They actually donate the wigs, free of charge to women with cancer. Locks of Love charges the children's families on a sliding scale, based on household income. While Locks needs 10-12'' of hair, Pantene only needs 8-10'' ( I can't remember the exact number offhand, but Pantene was 2" less than Locks.)
I had this same scenario three years ago. My hair was at my bra, I asked for a trim to keep the length, I came out with horrid hair that "layered" up to my shoulders. It's growing out now, and I'll be donating it through Pantene, I think, after the first of the year.0 -
see if you can find a picture of yourself with the long hair and tape it to your bathroom mirror. that way you can gauge how long your hair is now and you will be surprised over time how quickly it will get RIGHT back to that length.
i have donated my hair twice to Locks Of Love. the first time was 14 inches and the second time was 12. TEEEEE-RUST me. i KNOW how hard it is.
but now i am keeping my hair in the cute short cut that i got last year and can't donate my hair anymore, so i found an organization that needs crocheted, knitted, or quilted blankets. so now i am knitting blankets for traumatized children and teens. its time consuming but wonderful.
i'm sure you will find something else to do to give your time and effort and love to!
p.s. the haircut is still really cute!0 -
Thanks all of you guys!!!0

I like it shorter as well, but you look cute with it either way:flowerforyou:
....but I know what you mean....you tell them how you'd like it and you nearly FREAK when you get spun around in the chair....ACK:noway: then what can you do then right? Can't kill em....guess you can not tip em.....deep sighs
I don't know what else to say.... but again so sorry he didn't keep the length for you
Warm Hugs!!:flowerforyou:0 -
My hair is below my bra strap and I would be pissed if my hairdresser cut it that short. You need to go get your money back, now!
But....It does look really cute!0
