I said "no" to a doughnut!

It may seem like such a small thing to some people, but I'm the type of person who has a hard time saying no to sugar. This morning my loving boyfriend came home from the store with a box of doughnuts, offered me one, and I said no! Go me!

    Haha! Good job.
I don't like donuts, but any time I'm presented with a box of pastries--any kind of pastries, even the ones I hate--I feel obligated to indulge.

I have eaten a dozen donuts at a time during a binge so I congratulate you for having the determination to say no.
Donuts are verboten in my world.
I can never limit myself to one or five.

    Good going!

Not only is the "no" impressive, but also the fact that you are congratulating yourself for it. That's a great victory! Kudos!

well done you, I know the feeling well went to a supermarket yesterday and stared at a box of chocolates I absolutely love and imagined eating and enjoying a few and walked away without buying them and feeling strangely happy, my hubby thinks i'm losing it big time and was so surprised I resisted temptation. We must want this so much well done us lol.

Congratulations! Doughnuts are my favorite!!! Now use the box and beat your boyfriend for tempting you! (just kiddin!)
  • That's great! My bought Hershey's Kisses the other day and I could just eat so many of those...but i've only had 9 in three days! That's one serving! She also made a verrrrry yummy Boston Cream Pie cake, and...ugh. It's so hard to resist. I've had only one piece, but I keep having a bite here and there..it's hard. lol
  • GREAT JOB!!! I'm still learning to say 'no'...I crossed my fingers when my co-worker got french fries with her lunch. She usually offers me some and I never say no. Thank goodness she was preoccupied today & didn't.

    ANYWAYS

    CONGRATS!

Willpower is a key element in progress here - well done! However, the occasional donut as part of your allowance is ok! I had one for breakfast! Reduced the guilt by giving a bit to the dog

.. that until you learn how to say 'no', you will never be able to fully say 'yes'. Unless you know how to set boundaries to form your safe space, you will always be concerned that saying 'yes' might put you in danger. So you will always pull back a little from saying 'yes' with your whole heart. Paradoxically, knowing how to say 'no' to form boundaries gives much more power to your 'yes'. U think?

    Just a thought:)

    thats great :D
well done - I'm ok with resisting donuts and things but offer me a chinese or indian take away and I struggle to be good..oh and sushi is becoming a bit of an issue in that I end up going for the worse choices on the menu!!
  • Good Job!!!!! that is definately something to be proud of i was so proud a few days ago when i got a medium sweet tea instead of my large. lol

Walmart has sugar free sweet tea in gallon jugs that pretty much has nothing in it. I was certain I would hate being that I love me some homemade sugar loaded sweet tea but it's not bad at all!

Donuts used to be my weakness...I haven't had one since December. GO YOU! that takes major will power.

That is awesome! Takes willpower, and once you said no to doughnuts and other temptations .... it may just get easier and easier. (ummmm, somedays are better than others, lol)
way to go, keep it up!

That's awesome! Now, sit down with your lovely man and tell him "no more donuts!!" At least, not in the house. Cause, that would be my problem. I would say no now, but later I would sneak into the kitchen and eat 2...or 3...maybe 4. But, you SHOULD pat yourself on the back cause that one "NO" will help you to say no again and again. Great job!!

Good job! I understand completely how hard that is!!! This was a NSV for me this week, too, as there were donuts at work not once, but twice, and I managed to walk by without grabbing one. I was so proud of myself! :)
