unusual but true...loss of appetite?

It is extremely odd for me not to have ANY kind of cravings or thirst for food and drink. But after some weeks (Sept 19th, 08) on this MFP and ADA--AHA diet plan, I am not hungry at all. This seems so odd for me to say, but as a diabetic I have to make myself go downstairs to get something to eat.

I'm almost but maybe not quite old enough to be your mother (most of you, anyway), so at my age it is not uncommon to be faced with medical health issues (which is why I have to drop this extra weight, not my choice, b/c i'm a junk food junkie. or used to be), but i have become very cautious about not taking anything to put in my mouth b/c it will use up my precious few calories that i will really want and need later. This is from someone who sat in front of the TV and snacked on something all day long.

I am a diabetic and in that regard my dietician has me on a diet calculated to lose 1 pound a week (which so far that's what I have done)....even if I stayed in bed all day, but, to get to my question, HAS ANYONE BECOME FEARFUL OF TAKING SOMETHING TO EAT. I have also found out that staying on the computer keeps me out of the kitchen because the computer is on the top floor of the house.

  • I'm the exact way.
I never eat enough calories a day, and i don't seem hungry
The only thing i've craved is rice. isn't that weird?
    Not even pop or chips..
    hmm..

I am exactly the same, no cravings, having trouble some days actually eating my calories because I don't even feel hungry.

It is funny, I went through a month or so early on, maybe 3 wks in, where I didnt lose any weight. I had totally lost my appetite. I read up on here and realized I wasnt eating enough.

I still have a week here and there where my body just doesnt want food. I force myself to eat smaller, more calorie dense meals, because I know my body needs fuel.

Salty, sweet, bready things....that in the past would have called out....Jeeeeeeannieeee....oh jeannnnnnnieeeee come in her and eat us up, NOW! No longer have a hold on me. The body doesnt need that much food...we make a HABIT out of eating it, so our bodies then start asking for it.

Also I was drinking a lot more water, and I think it took my body some time to know what to do with it.

My body is now begging for exercise:noway: . Had to go do sit ups, push ups last night, or I couldnt sleep.

I guess my point is we are changing. Give your body some time to adjust to new habits, like logging in the computer (which also keeps me from spending time in the cupbard!)

Greenie, just make sure you enough, I do not want to come up there and visit you in the hospital, ya hear!
