I joined this site and loving it! Three and half years ago, I had 3 brain surgeries, had 40 percent of my skull removed and became partially paralyzed. I was only 26. They told me i would never walk again and DEF not work ever again!! To their astonishment, I walked, got my speech back. However, telling a 26 year old that she will NEVER work again made me very depressed. I was home all day, snacked and watched so much tv. Luckily, I met a great guy but he was at work all day. I finally was able to find a part time nanny job. But still, I noticed I had gained weight. I was always skinny or in the decent range, but bc of my depression and knowing I will never work a real job again put a toll on me. My sister told me about this app on my phone where I can track my food. I got the app and put my food in. I did not know that there is a site with tons of people who are so nice and encouraging. For over a month, I have measured out ALL of my food and working out 5-6 days a week as well as doing weight training with our free personal trainer (part of our apt complex). My bf has mentioned to me that he thinks I am obsessed and that I talk about this site all the time. I had a rough day yesterday and cried at the gym, I felt gross and found out that the family I nanny for wont need me in the summer or nexr year since the kids are getting older. Anyways, I came home, made a healthy meal, even had my dessert that I wanted. This morning, I decided to weight myself. I tried last week but since I was on TOM i had gained a half pound. I was so nervous getting on the scale... and when I looked it said that I weight 134~~ which is 3.1 lbs lower!! I AM THE HAPPIEST GIRL~~~ I then told my bf that I am doing something right and that maybe my obsessiveness is fine since I have lost 10.5 lbs and a happy girl!!!!

For all of you who think they dont want to work out, or cant do it.. THEY CAN~ I have overcome so much and never have felt better!!!!

Great Job! You've have overcome many difficult obstacles that most people will not deal with in a lifetime! It sounds like you could easily work - you just need to find out what type of work is available for you (although the economy is a difficult one). Congratulations on your weight loss and keep up the positive attitude!!

I am not able to work bc I still get very tired and would not be able to handle a full day. I am also on Medicare and Social Security. They recommended me nannying since I went to college for Early Chidlhood Education. I also cant stand on my feet for very long bc they stiffen up and it hurts. I am doing better but still not at my old self.

Thank you all for responding! I just wanted to share my story and give inspiration.
