Gym question

I’m not sure that I have time for the gym tonight, but I’m trying really hard to finish my school work early enough to still go.

My questions is….Will the effect of going to the gym later at night and going to bed shortly after be less effective as it would be if I went earlier in the day? :ohwell:

Not at all..but chances are you won't be able to sleep.
A good workout keep me awake at night if I workout too late. End up lying in bed for hours staring at ceiling.

Eat when you can, workout when you can.

There's no reason to not workout at night if that's the only time you can fit your workout in, some people feel amped up by the workout, I enjoy the workout and helps ME to sleep more soundly that night.

I'm the opposite...If I work out hard then I am ready for bed when I get home. I actually feel like I sleep better!

i'm the total opposite. i love working out later in the evening, take a shower and sleep like a log. just have to try it and see what works for you.

I need my work outs to end at least 4 hours before I go to bed or else I am too wound up to sleep. I didn't always have that reaction though. Just be aware that it may be a possible side effect.

Ok, cool. thank you for your responses.
I was just wondering about metabolism....i guess I kind of thought maybe i would burn as many calories because my metabolism would go down because of sleep.

I'm going to give it a try tonight. Hope this goes well

I do that 3x a week, I also work with kids all day(daycare provider) so it is my stress reliever. Never new before that exercise could be a stress relief good grief that's what I get for sitting on the couch for so many years. LOL

I am such an evening workout gal. Mondays are my late night where I am usually at the gym anywhere from 9pm to 11pm. most other days its early evening, like 6 or 7. I HATE early morning gym...like the earliest I can go is 9am. Dont worry about it...just be aware as others have said that sometimes it can wind you up and make it hard to sleep!

Even if your metabolism isn't as high as it would normally be after a workout during the day, it is still better than not working out at all. Go for it. I used to workout at night all the time and I slept great afterwards. Now, not so much, so I try not to work out vigorously after 8pm. I just do Yoga or something if it's late.
