yes and its tomorrow and im already gettting that feeling. ya know the one....."its a special day i get to eat like a freakin pig"! i have ALWAYS used holidays and special occasions as reasons to gorge and to go off of my weight loss plan. ive always felt i was entitled to extra calories and fat on these days! I DONT WANT TO DO THIS AGAIN! im doing really good(i think) but this is an old habit of mine and one of the first obstacles ive had to face since ive started losing back in feb. im trying to get to my next 10lbs threshhold(2lbs and im through it) this week and im feeling the pressure!! anything you guys have, THROW IT AT ME!!

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
Bake yourself a low calorie treat and enjoy it! Start your day off with some exercise and then allow yourself to enjoy the extra calories. Take yourself SHOPPING for your birthday and buy yourself something cute in that smaller size you've worked so hard to get into. Or treat yourself to a manicure or a massage...something that will make you feel great (that isn't about food!),
And most of all...have a great day!!!!:smooched:0 -
Happy birthday!!Don`t use a special day to be a food fest.I would allow yourself something special but try to stay within your diet.maybe exercise more.I`ve found if I pig out 1 day it could end up being more. But that`s me.
Whatever you decide,it`s your day to do what you want with it.
Take care,jane:flowerforyou:0 -
my birthday is in april & i'm not looking forward to turning 25 at all, BUT my goal of the new year is to be in the BEST shape of my life, which is motivation enough not to pig out & logging on here daily, is also great motivation with all my MFP girlies to tell me to get off my butt & workout & not to have more than one piece of birthday cake ;o)0

oh & HAPPY BIRTHDAY btw!0

It's all mental. Be tough. You might want to decide today how many calories you are going to allow yourself tomorrow, realizing that you can go over one day without undoing all your hard work. THEN don't go over the calories you allowed yourself. Post it to your diary so you can see it after you're done. That should be motivation enough to get back on track the day after your birthday. Have a happy one!0

thanx everyone! i love the idea of planning on giving myself the calories today and not going over them tomorrow. sounds like a plan!0

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Have you tried the cake recipe where you put a can of diet soda....your choice of flavors....soda goes into the cake mix.....instead of all the other stuff. So bake yourself something lite.....and then go buy yourself a birthday gift....new shoes...jewelry....some little something. It doesn't have to be about food. My family is the same way.....it's always about food.
Again.....Happy Birthday!0 -
1. Keep in mind the effort you have put forth so far to get where you are.
2. Ask yourself if you want the effort to go totally down the tubes (it won't but totally, but piggin' out will have an impact)
3. Drink a LOT of water--especially before the celebratory meal.
4. If you go out to eat, enjoy it. However, order your favorite and when it arrives, cut the portion in half. Eat that and box the rest.
5. Drink MORE water.
6. Enjoy the day. A slight weight gain is not going to kill you. One day off of your diet our of 365, is not going to cause major damage. However, it you feel it's going to be a catalyst for a continual binge, don't do it.
God Bless and Happy Birthday!

Just plan what you will 'splurge' on and if you can exercise a little more to cover it or skip a snack to cover it or just take responsibility for going a little over for one day, but still staying within your maintenance goal or bust your butt today and the day AFTER your birthday to make up for it Also you could follow the taste everything eat nothing method - have small nibbles of everything tempting, but just dont eat tons of it! Don't forget to enjoy yourself and pat yourself on your back for your hard work and accomplishments so far and give yourself the gift of continuing to take this journey and give yourself the healthy hot body that you desire HAPPY BIRTHDAY!0

Hey .Happy Birthday!
It's my birthday on the 23rd too! Just wrote a blog about my weigh-in interfering with my plans tomorrow night...as well as my plans to indulge just a little bit on Thursday night for my actual party.
Enjoy your day -- don't go nuts, but indulge a little. Then back on the horse! One day ain't gonna make or break it
Happy b-day. xo0 -
Happy birthday lovely xx
I hope you have a wonderful day and everything you want0 -
I say treat yourself and be sure to still log in and track everything you ate so you aren't tempted to keep eating like that. If you want to keep at healthier eating for your birthday this is a really moist cake you can try....

I turned 21 in january and surprisingly it wasn't hard to control my eating! My boyfriend didn't buy me a cake or ice cream because he knows I'm on a diet. When we went to dinner we went to Japanese. I got veggie hibachi, which I could hardly eat ANY because it was so damn filling PLUS they give you a salad beforehand. You can different kinds of hibachi like steak, chicken, shrimp, but I chose veggie just because I wanted to play it safe.
I think that when the food is not there, its not a problem to avoid it. It actually didn't occur to me on my birthday that I didn't have a cake because we stayed busy doing other things. Plus (ya know, since I turned 21) I had a couple of drinks, only 2!, and they were frozen margaritas. They weren't huge, so I didn't feel bad since I had a "healthy" dinner and no cake.
So I would say, skip on stuff like birthday cake and maybe substitute it for a cupcake. Have a healthier meal that TASTES good so you don't feel like you're getting gypped.
And happy birthday!!!0
