progresso light soups

Usually I steer clear from canned soups because the sodium is so high it kind of makes me nauseous. There are 2 categories I would try: "reduced sodium" or "100 calories or less"
the "light, 100 calories or less" vegetable soup has only 60 calories but 470mg of sodium! ew....
there are 3 "reduced sodium" soups listed on the website but nutritional info doesn't show up... does anyone know what the cals/sodium is for each flavor?

The reduced sodium ones aren't worth it either. It think it's just about 200 mg less that the regular. I've been trying to convince my Mom (who has diabetes & high blood pressure) of that.
Remember these terms:
Sodium Free - The product contains no more than 5 millgrams of sodium in each serving.
Very Low Sodium - The product contains no more than 35 milligrams per serving.
Low Sodium - The product contains no more than 140 milligrams per serving.
Reduced Sodium - Sodium levels have been reduced by at least 25 percent from the original product.
No Salt Added - The food processor has not added any salt. However, such a product may be naturally high in sodium.
Hubby and I will make our own. We either cook a chicken or buy one of those rotisserie chickens from the store, take off all the meat and cook the carcass in some water and some carrots & celery. Let it simmer a while and you'll have a great stock. Add some spices (NO SALT) and some of the chicken - yummy!!! You can even freeze some of it.0 -
I eat the light reduced sodium chicken noodle and it's 90 a serving, and 180 for the whole can...I always eat the whole can. Haha.0

If you look at the progresso soups...even the low sodium as you said or the light ones. Yes they are 470mg of sodium...per serving! So the whole can is double that since a can of the progresso is 2 servings per can. Lots of salt!! EWWW0

A good number of people on here recommend eating them so I looked into it.... I'm sorry but if one can has THAT much sodium, I don't care if it has 10 calories! I'm not eating it!! haha0 -
actually if you look at anything at all that says low sodium or LIGHT or DIET on it...they ussually have ALOT of sodium. I think that is the trick to actually not let you lose weight on them or get healthy. The best snack I have found which is good for you and has low sodium is PIZZA! Thank goodness! Look up the KASHI roasted veggie pizza. You can eat half the pizza for 750 calories and very low sodium. Love those things!! You can eat healthy and still have pizza the best food in the world. =0)0
