so, i am really wanting pizza badly, and haven't it in over a month. so i'm wondering... is it ok if i have some? i've never really been in the position before where i have asked myself if i should allow myself a couple slices. usually it's a whole pizza affair, and i feel terrible after, but what, really is the harm of a couple pieces?

the only thing i can think of is that it might not stop at 2 pieces. but it might...i haven't tested myself yet. anyhow, what do you all think i should do? i've been doing really well, and feel ready for the challenge. and the main thing i'm stressing in my new life right now is not bingeing and not depriving myself to the point where i do have a binge. help!

I agree with Losing It.... Pizza cannot be "off limits" for the rest of your life... you just need to limit yourself to a serving... otherwise you will binge when you decide to have it. SAVOR every bite ... and just have a few pieces. This is for life..... and all foods should be welcomed... just as you said "in moderation".

I had the same problem last week. I ate very healthy for breakfast and lunch without starving myself (I had to do some research) and kept my calories down enough to allow myself 2 slices of pizza. It also helps to decide ahead of time what kind of pizza you want and then get the nutrition facts on it. Then when it comes time to actually eat the pizza, don't choose the largest pieces...(I kept reaching for them lol)

If you're still worried about it, just up your exercise for the day to allow yourself some extra calories. =)

If I can do it, you can too. Pizza has alway been one of my weak spots.

Lean Cuisine, Smart Ones--- they make a pretty good pizza. We have pizza about once a week. I check my calorie intake first and then at most I have 2 pieces. If you've been dieting for a while (even 2 weeks) you'ld be surprised how filling a slice can be. I find that if I don't satisfy a craving I tend to eat way more. In my opinion, for me anyways, its better to satisfy the craving and get it out of the way.

The point is to be healthy and think of food in a healthy manner.

I started satiating my pizza craving by making my own. I use a pita (or two ), tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and turkey bacon. Yum! My bf prefers feta cheese and black olives. I absolutely love them and when I'm finished I'm full and don't crave pizza anymore!

    Good Luck!

I know after a month...I couldn't possibly have done any junk food yet....but that's just me, we all are so very different.

Of course it's different as folks have shared....givin the extras to the kids and hubby....then it's safe:drinker: So if you got those safety factors in place...I say go for it if you've allowed yourself enough cals for a treat night.:drinker:

Remember LOTS of water to get out all that sodium......

Exactly what I've done as well....then you know exactly what's in it, how to count it, and it kills the craving cause it's the same as a pizza....you can heap on loads of veggies and make it to your own liking.

    Glad you brought that up....:flowerforyou:

so i did it.... i had 4 pieces ( way less than i normally would have had) and stopped when i was satisfied. it tasted good, but not as mind blowingly-awesome as i had expected....

lesson learned: go for it. it's not going to kill me, and i've learned as well that i can eat an unhealthy food and not binge my face off. i'm proud of me.

how much is calories/fat on a piece of pizza these days...I don't think I even have a clue, I like the pita pockets one now! Last time I had real pizza it tasted so greasy to me and I was soooooooooo thirsty and bloated big time after only a piece........ew

Somethings are never the same after clean eating....which for me is fine....I much prefer healthier versions myself....but it sounds like you really wanted pizza and were determined to test yourself.:drinker: So you feel you did ok eating 4 pieces....no regrets? well, that's good then:drinker:

The mystic of pizza is probably now under your belt...ahahha no pun intended.....funny how old foods we remember quite differently than they actually are once we've eaten clean for even a short time....least that's how it works for me.:drinker:

    Hey ellelit,

well done with your achievement! I too love pizza but didn't want to runi my good work...also like your self i was a bit disappointed that it wasnt as yummy as i recalled...so I decided to experiement and used a large tortilla/fajita as the base, put on some tomatoe puree/ passata with some herbs and garlic, add topping's of your choice (my fave is spinach, with mozzarella, red oinions and mushrooms) then put in the oven for 20 mins let the cheese melt and the base crisp and hey presto pizza...

it does not bet the real thing but it is not half bad.

Pizza is my weakness, and like you I have a hard time stopping. Every once in a while I allow it, but I eat very light early in the day to make up the difference.

    Sounds like you did great!!
