Is one better than the other?

I'm wondering about the difference in running (on a treadmill, per se).

If I run at a pace of 5.8 (~10:15 mile) and burn 320 calories, is this better or worse than running at a pace of 6.4 (~9:20 mile) and burning 320 calories?

The total distance/time will be different for each scenario, but the calories burned are the same. The intensity for each is different, as is the heart rate.

Just wondering if I am truly benefitting much from pushing extra hard on the treadmill. My goal is to lose body fat.

Not sure if this example makes sense, but hopefully someone will understand it!

*Edit to add that I'm only looking to lose about 10-15 pounds*

At lower Heart Rates (~65% of your maxHR) your body will burn more fat.
If you exceed this limits dramatically (maybe at 80%) you're metabolism can't set free the required amounts of calories from fat cells, so it will draw on "fast accessible energy" such as short-chain carbohydrates (sugars and such).
