Ellelit - Day 24

So yesterday was a BIG hurdle for me.... i have been craving junk like mad since thursday, and yesterday i decided to have a planned cheat meal. my first bad food in 23 days. i was worried that if i ordered pizza i would binge, but i was also worried that if i didn;t order pizza i would fall of the wagon hard and sprial out of control (which happened to me in January..)
so i ordered a pizza.. with pepperoni and mushrooms. now normally i would have gotten the large, and eaten the entire thing, and topped it off with a 2L of coke. well i had 4 slices of mediuim, a big glass of water, and savoured every bite.
i mentioned this on another thread, but the thing that struck me the most is that before i would just shove it in my face and not even taste the food. really! i used to think it was the most amazing thing on earth, and 2-3 times a week i would order it and stuff my face and feel really ill afterwards and in the morning.
well i thought about each bite, and the first were yummy, but it lost its lustre pretty quickly. i mean meat with melted cheese on baked dough. when you deconstruct it, it sounds pretty gross.it wasn't disgusting, but my mind thought pizza was sooooo much better than it actually is. funny.
i have pizza in the fridge, and i hate throwing food out, so i'm still contemplating whether to have a couple pieces for lunch... i dunno.... i haven't decied.
so anyhow, here is how yesterday went. oh, and it was thanksgiving too~!
breakfast:
1 oatmeal packet
2/3 cup skim milk
1 banana
snack:
1 banana
1 yogurt cup
4 fibre cookies
lunch (thanksgivign)
1 baked chicken breast
2/3 cup stuffing
2/3 cup. gravy (low fat packaged kind)
1 cup mashed potatoes made with skim milk and becel
1 cup steamed brussles sprouts
snack:
1 peach fruit cup
supper:
4 slices pepperoni pizza with mushrooms
3 T dipping sauce (i know, i know... it was better than the pizza lol.)
snack:
1 cup skim milk
so a good day for me. i'm really glad i decided to test myself and see how i could handle eating a bit of junk food. next time i get the craving, i might try ordering one of the specialty pizzas... whole wheat crust, veggies, less cheese. i dont have an over, so i can't make my own, but there are ways to make it more healthy.
today i'm spending researching Grad schools for a masters in archival studies... that should keep me occupied for a while. here is to today and more healthy eating to come.
