Tummy just won't go away!

I have lost about 8lbs since I started here, but I am 223 now so I imagine it doesn't show as much as I would like! I had two minor break downs with clothing this weekend. From what I can tell, my waist hasn't lost even a 1/4 of an inch yet. I can fit into my "skinny jeans", but they push my tummy up and I look terrible in them. Which is really discouraging, by the way! I have decided that my skinny jeans have actually found a way to make me look 20 lbs heavier. So I am wondering if you all have any ideas about how to get your tummy looking smaller! I do crunches at the gym, but that is really the only idea I have.
Thanks! :flowerforyou:

Crunches will build the muscle under the bulge but the only way to get rid of exrta tummy is to do cardio and more cardio! Cardio burns the fat coverng the muscle.
Good luck!0 -
There is NO WAY to lose weight in a targeted area. Keep doing what you are doingfor overall weight loss, and eventually it will show. Once you lose the fat which is covering up your abs, you will have a nice, sexy six-pack.

I had the same problem last year! Took me another month to lose enough weight to fit into those jeans, but I have to tell you, it felt SOOO good when I put them on and could actually pull the waistband away from my gut! (Not to mention I felt like a million bucks!)
You can do it! Keep up the good work! :flowerforyou:0 -
CARDIO!!! mixed with core exercises to tighten the muscles under the fat. The cardio will burn the fat, leaving the nice toned core muscles exposed for all to enjoy!0

And one that I do not posess, lol.
Thanks for the responses. I guess I was hoping someone had figured out something to do besides cardio, lol! Guess I will just have to keep it up and get in those jeans when I do!0 -
I'll trade ya! My tummy and waist shrinks like no tomorrow, but my lower half...well somebody needs to tell it that we're trying to lose weight here! :laugh:0

It will go away eventually. As I understand it, you'll loose the weight opposite of the way you gained it so last in, first out. Some people tend to put weight on in their stomach area first. If you are one of those, then it may be the last place you loose it. Don't be discouraged. You'll get there. In the meantime I have one miraculous word for you.......

I can't say enough good about them. The "All the way up" smoothers and pantyhose will literally make you look like you've lost 20 pounds, get rid of the dreaded "muffin top" and lessen the appearance of cellulite.
I love them. They are expensive and I use them for when I want to look especially nice but Target carries a generic brand made by the same company and they are almost as good.
Seriously, try them. They are a great morale booster.0 -
