is there anything I can have that wont kill me on my diet? I had some miso soup about an hour ago but my tummy is still growling......I should eat right, to keep my metabolism happy?

side note: Are avacados bad for you because they're so high in fat. I had one today and it put me over my cal goal..200 cals in a 3.4 an avocad0!?!?!

fat has 9 calories a gram. avocados have a lot of fat, therefore they have a lot of calories.

drink some water and if you do eat, eat something with slow releasing protein like cottage cheese.

Advocados are really good for you, it's the good kind of fat. If you're hungry, I'd say eat--maybe some veggies or fruit, popcorn, low-fat string cheese, sorbet--something along those lines. Just stay away from the ice cream in the freezer, lol, and you should be fine. Enjoy! :)
  • I usually have a little yogurt if I'm hungry at night and then I'm also not starving the next morning. :)

At that hour, i'd have a glass of milk. Protein to fill you up, plus it helps you sleep.

    mmm popcorn sounds good! ;)

    I should just sleep though!
  • Greek yogurt. I get the Athenos kind with a little fruit thing on the side. It's 100 cals and it actually makes me full. 11g of protein.

I run into the same thing because I end up still needing foods to reach my daily calorie count. Last night I had almonds. They have so many benefits and seem to calm my hungry tummy.

Be careful of cheese that late at night because it's very high in sodium. Your body naturally burns calories as you sleep but the sodium will hinder that late at night. (so I've been told)

Some peanut butter on crackers or wheat bread is also a snack that takes the pangs away but doesn't make me feel to bloated to sleep.

Now I know this sounds weird, but does the trick.

    Non-fat yogurt
    Peanut Butter
    Cocoa Powder
    Honey

Swirl around like a pudding. Just a little bit of each. Made one tonight with a little bit of whipped cream. MMMMM, did the trick once again. And honey helps you sleep, too.

Oatmeal with flax. Apple with peanut butter. Any complex carb with a small amount of lean protein.

As for avocado, it's actually a healthy fat and we need some amount of healthy fat every day so don't worry about the calories in it. :) Just don't go overboard.

Add more veg to you evening meal, like steamed carrots snacking at 10 just before bed is not good.

I find that a fewalmonds do the trick - only about 4 - 6, but it's enough to keep the growling down til I go to sleep.
If this is every day, make sure you are getting enough cals from real food so your body isn't crying out for nutrtion.
