Pedometor/Calorie Counter

I want to buy a calorie counter, but, alot of them are pretty expensive. I was thinking about getting a pedometor that says it also can count calories, but I don't understand how something clipped to your hip can count how many calories you're burning while working out. Are these things accurate? How do they work?

I use a "bodybugg" and love it!! Don't buy it full price though, they go on special frequently.

nope not that accurate, go with your gut on this one. There are a few cheaper HRM watches that are ok, WalMart sells them and so does Target. I would just save up for a better one though, it is worth it. I have the Polar FT4, not that fancy, paid $90 but I love it, can't imagine working out without it now. It truly brings light to what YOU are doing, not what the machine says.

I bought a cheap one from Walmart called Pro-Form. Once I got home and googled the reviews I took it back. The reviews were horrible! So I'm still just winging it and hoping I'm logging my exercise correctly for now.

I just bought a calpal, it is not a pedometer. It is a calorie counter, but you can put in your exercise calories as well. I got it on Amazon.com. I use it when I am really on the go and cant get to my computer for fitnesspal. In my experience no pedometer has ever worked, but I always went for the less expensive ones.

I totally agree with this. And I also have the Polar FT4 and love it!
