I made this for lunch today and it was sooo good!
I couldn't find the Shirataki noodles so I used regular fetuccini pasta instead.

Healthier me -I was wondering if have tried these noodles yet. I either get them from whole foods or price chopper and since you are from ny, is there a price chopper by you?? Just wondering what you thought since i see you like hungry-girl.om site too.0

I don't have a Price Chopper here.
I'll kee my eyes peeled everytime I go out food shopping.
I do have Costco though... do they sell them there?
I really enjoyed this recipe with regular fetuccini pasta and so did my 2 y/o.

Yeah since my fiance kind of works for costco I know they don't have them there. Too bad because I would love to buy these in bulk. I always get the strangest looks when I buy 20 bags or so. But that lasts me a least a month or more. I only buy them when convient for me because the store is like 45 mins away from my house. But because my fiance travels a lot to long island so I also go to the whole foods there 10 min from hotel. They last like 6 months or something in my fridge that is why it pays to stock up for me.0

I don't know where else to look for them.
I'd have to ask around.
Thanks!

I got them at Whole foods =- but how do they REALLY taste???0
-
I know people think that they must taste really bad, but I love them. They don't really taste like anything until you put the sauce on, then the noodles take on that flavor. So I can make them with tomato sauce or taste like lo mein or like this recipe. The only difference that people can notice is the texture (it is a little bit like eating overdone noodles) or the smell when you open the bag (kind of fishy) but you rinse the noodles or boil them quickly to take that away. My main reason for eating these are to save calories. I used to eat a lot and now am trying to control this but if I know that my dinner is going to use up more calories than I have, I eat these for lunch, with tomato sauce and can have a very filling meal for 80 calories. Although I should say that this is not my only method of weight loss though, I have found and created healthy meals that I can eat so that I will be full by the end of the day and use most to all of my calories as well.0

I've tried looking for those Tofu Shirataki Fettuccine Shaped Tofu Noodles but can't so I just use regular fettuccine pasta noodles and I love this dish. It's fast, easy & yummy - atleast for me it is.
And you are right, to each their own

Ohhh I thought you made it with the Tofu noodles. I found them at my Publix store, and they really are terrible. I bet this recipe would be excellent with just regular noodles. The Tofu noodles have a terrible smell (even though I washed and washed) and the texture is worse. I can't get passed either. I will have to try the recipe with regular noodles. I bet it's a whole different story!0
