if you've eaten the 'good' fat through almonds, seeds or such, do you count that towards your fat limit for the day? i've never really thought about that before and i'm curious. thankee in advance!

Fat is fat no matter if its good or bad. I say it still counts. Just like sugar in fruits still counts as sugar even tho its not processed. Hope I helped

Yes. Regardless of the source, a gram of fat is 9 calories so count them.

yes as it is still fat and has 9 calories per gram. Actually if we ate perfectly all the fat grams would be "good fat" and if you ate 60 grams of good fat it is still 540 calories from fat. Not counting it would be like not counting carbs that come from whole grains (complex carbohydrates) but you do as they are still carbs.

count it yes, worry about it no. I still count it but I do not stress about it as I consider it beneficial and not harmful to my body, in the end everything we eat counts, what we need to focus in on is that the majority is a benefit to your body not harmful.
  • The fat that you 'need' is the good fats... So IMO you shouldn't be eating any bad fat if you can help it, the 20% fat should be coming from healthy fat sources.. HTH
