As a former Starbucks barista, I just have to tell people to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE avoid the flavors!!! Each pump of flavor (mocha, peppermint, vanilla, etc.) is something like 40 calories-- and there's 2 pumps in a tall, 3 in a grande, and 4 in a vente... A great way to save some calories is to ask for ONE LESS pump of flavoring and ask the barista to just stir it extra... Also, go with skim milk! I can't even tell the difference.

I've always been a starbucks lover but carbs are my concern now lol I don't mind the calories because at this point in my weight loss I'm still so big I burn an insane amount of calories just getting up in the morning. lol But I certainly have learned to love the tall caramel skinny latte!!

They do offer a couple great sugar free flavors...vanilla & caramel are my go to choices. I'll get a tall cappuccino, nonfat milk and sugar free flavor for around 60 cals or so...less if you get it iced.

The tall skim caramel machiato makes me so incredibly happy. I just had it as an evening treat with a book a couple of days ago and was ecstatic that I still made it under my calorie goal after eating a full day's meals!

I LOVE Starbucks. For those of you who like flavored. . I have started buying their Via packets and powdered creamer and making them at home. It is a lot cheaper and you can make it how you like it. Usually with the via and my powdered creamer, my coffee is hitting about 110 cals for 20 oz. DELISH!

Caution . . . a half of the Via tubes is a serving.

Nice timing I have been limiting my trips this week and thinking about my next step to lowering my calories when I do go. I usually get a Grande Latte and something.

    LMAO!

This is funny, I just had a Starbucks Tall, non-fat mocha frappacino - 100 calories.

It gives me just the right amount of caffine for that extra boost and is not as many calories as a tall hot mocha.

To the ex-barista, thanks for the advice about the flavor pumps. I guess in order to reduce the calories when I order the one less pump, then I will have to reduce the size of my serving since I don't think there's the option on here for the reduced pump.

actually there are 3 pumps in a tall, 4 in a grande, 5 in a venti, and 6 in an iced venti
i work there now, caramel macchiatos have one less pump, maybe thats what you were referring to

Thank goodness I am not addicted! Way too expensive for my budget. I make my own for like 65 cals! My friend & I are always experimenting & got our Frappes down to a science! :-)
Folgers & Hungry Girl both have some specialty coffee recipes that ROCK! :drinker:
