I do good all day as far as my eating and exercise is concerned up until I get home from work then it all goes downhill from there. I live with my boyfriend and his parents and they are all super skinny and eat junk food all the time so that is all that is ever at the house. Putting the food out of sight is just not an option because its not my house. Does anyone have any ideas on how i can avoid eating all the processes JUNK that is always staring me in the face. I always have veggies ready in the fridge but when I walk into the kitchen it is just temptation galore!!!!!

Example of my day:
Breakfast; red berries special k
0% milk
banana

Snack: mixed nuts

Lunch: 2 slices low cal low fat bread
2 tbsp reduced fat peanut butter
radishes, carrots, and snow peas
Nonfat yogurt

Snack: sugar free jello
Reduced fat string cheese

then I get home and this is what happens.......................

Two honey buns at 350 calories a piece and then some chips which probably brought me to 1,000 calories all together! :(

For my Dinner I am having baked chicken potatoes carrots and celery.

I NEED SOME HELP!!!!!!
I work out a lot. Heck I work at a gym! But I cant get my eating under control!

I'd recommend not buying the honey buns and chips. That way they won't be in your house. :)

Everything looks fine except for those two honey buns. Two @350 a piece....Ouch. Would you be able to just have half of one if you are craving?

Girl i do the SAME thing!! I think eating more calories at breakfast and lunch, so you are not hungry or tempted. Start your day with PROTEIN....when i eat cereal for breakfast i always feel soo hungry later! Try a protein shake blended wtih banana and strawberries....then a coupe hours later cereal, or other snack. I find staying full( on good clean foods) helps me avoid temptaions! But i'm struggling as well, thank you girl scouts and your cookies ;)

Do they know that you are trying to lose weight? Maybe if you had an open conversation with them about how the junk food is distracting you they will keep it elsewhere. whenever you walk into that kitchen you just need to look past the junk like its not even there. Maybe have separate drawers or cabinets for your food and theirs? Your boyfriend should be respectful of your choices and maybe his family will decide they all need to start eating healthy if you talk with them

But she said it isn't her house so it's not an option.

I would recommend getting healthier versions of common trigger foods to start.

I DONT buy them they do. I dont buy stuff like that unless i have a major craving for something then it's usually cheesecake or chocolate!

They are the type of family that doesnt believe in diets or eating RABBIT food! They all know that I am trying to lose weight. My boyfriend tries to help but he's not very good at it!

Did you ever try getting your own snacks since you can't control what they have. I find that pita chips and hummous help with some of my chip cravings-(even wheat thins or sun chips). Or for the sweet cravings try maybe jello temptation dark chocolate mousse or maybe chocolate rice cakes with peanut butter spread on top. There are some things that have good nutrition and curb cravings ;)
Also you can try discussing with them that your weight is not as easy as theirs and any support would help.

Enter it into your food diary before you eat it....that saves me all the time from even going over on semi-healthy food! Once I see the big, red, negative calories in the remaining section, and have given myself a couple of minutes to think about, I delete it and don't eat it!

I also find that dinner is hard to find... If you have no other option but to eat those types of food watch the portions. That is what I do. If my family is having something I really want, I eat it in moderation.

I also find I feel more satisfied when i eat more whole grains, wheat bread or multigrain bread, snack on nutrigrain bar, almonds are very filling as well, granola bars (there are sweet ones that atleast have nutritional value)
I just think you are starving because everything you eat all day is very good for you, there is no filling protein or fiber ... just a thought

I am the only one watching what I eat in my home, so this is what I do. I love chocolate and yummy junk also. I have substitutes right there for easy access. I have Kroger Chocolate Cereal bars 90 calories. They remind me of rice crispy treats with chocolate drizzle. Every night I have a party cup of ice c.ream with strawberries or chocolate 110 calories. I also have lite yogurt in the desert flavors that I stick in the freezer and munch while watching tv 80 calories. I also have fat free pudding cups 60 and 70 calories.
I reward myself for a good day with these yummy low cal treats. It keeps me on track during the day because I always make sure I have enough cals left for desert.
Also the biggest thing for me has been to change my mind set from "I can't have that" to "I don't want that" once you can make that click in your mind you wont binge or feel deprived.
    Good luck!
