I have PCOS really bad, and am taking metformin for it, but it doesn't seem to help with the side effects. With that being said, my trainer is working more on weights and gaining muscle than cardio. I'm a little worried because with PCOS you have more testosterone than a normal women. Since he doesn't know anything about PCOS, should I keep with the weights and do cardio or what?

Also any women that have it, can you please tell what you do to see a difference in weight or inches?

I have PCOS and a whole host of other issues. I choose to take the Metformin, even though my sugars are in control now.

I do weights and cardio. You'll be fine. :)

I do a variety of things...elliptical with and without HIIT, treadmill...same, DVDs...did have a bike until I busted that going to fast. Oops!

As for the testosterone and muscle building, this would be a good question for your doctor. I have PCOS and I have lost lbs and inches. But it could be different for everyone. In my opinion, if you are working a lot of weights you might see the inches first.

I have it too, and I was on the medication too for about 2 weeks, and hated the side affects so I went off of it. I have been working out, eating healthier, staying under my calories, and working out by doing the Couch to 5k and I've already lost 11lbs. I know it can cause problems and can keep you from losing weight, but I also think if you are eating right and exercising you should be okay. As far as the trainer goes I would maybe see about getting a female trainer or looking into your options that are available.

I have PCOS too. Weight training is essential to weight loss. Mix in some cardio, and you'll be squared away! Personally, I do 2 days with my trainer (weight training), 3 days of cardio (treadmill, bike, elliptical, etc.) and then 1 day, I take classes at my gym that incorporates both. I've recently started, so I don't have insane results yet. But, I've noticed a surprising change already. You'll be fine. Keep it up!
