If any of you love beef stew as much as I do, this is a great recipe and oh so tasty!! Oh, and the best part...it is made in the crockpot!!!

Ingredients:
1 Pound Beef Stew Meat
1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp Ground Pepper
1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
3 Red Potatoes, Diced
1 1/2 tsp Salt
3 Beef Bouillon Cubes
3 Cups Hot Water
Garlic, to Taste
1 tsp Paprika
1/2 Cup Diced Carrots
1/2 Cup Celery

Directions:
1- Combine beef stew meat, flour, ground pepper, Worcestershire sauce, salt, bouillon, hot water, garlic and paprika into the crockpot on low heat for about 4-6 hours
2-About 30-45 minutes before complete, add diced potatoes, carrots, and celery

Makes about 6 (1 Cup) Servings

    Sounds yummy!
  • Sounds good but is the garlic raw or do use the powder?

Can you tell me what kind of meat you use? I am getting over 300 calories/serving using lean chuck.

    1 Pound Beef Stew Meat
    1198
    1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour
    228
    1/2 tsp Ground Pepper
    1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
    3 Red Potatoes, Diced
    462
    1 1/2 tsp Salt
    3 Beef Bouillon Cubes
    3 Cups Hot Water
    Garlic, to Taste
    1 tsp Paprika
    1/2 Cup Diced Carrots
    50 +
    TOTAL 1938

1938 total calories divided by 6 servings = 323 calories per serving.

Even with a pound of lean round, it's still 246 cals.

Thx in advance for any help!

I always make beef stew in my crockpot...no better way to make it! One thing I always add is one can of V8 (or 2, whatever just covers what is in the pot) at the beginning. I do not use flour or boullion cubes at all but Bisto gravy powder close to the end. When mixed with the V8 and the juices from the beef/veggies it makes an amazing gravy and of course adds even more nutritional value in terms of veggies!! (plus much less sodium than boullion, and no calories from white flour-which i call 'white death' ...along with sugar, white bread, white pasta, etc. etc.).
  • Yep, jacked that up. I put 1 oz instead of 1 pound. Worry everyone. I thought it looked too good to be true.
