Hello everyone,
Today is my first day using MFP. I'm very excited about joining but scared at the same time. It's one thing to know what you eat everyday, but to see it actually written down somewhere and tracked is another. Then there's the fact that the scale is my enemy. I never weigh myself so to have to start doing that is very scary to me. Even though today is my first day on here I've been exercising for the past 3-4 weeks. I got to the point where I couldn't stand to look in the mirror and hated the thought of my husband seeing me this way too. I've struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. It's not that I eat big portions, but the problem is what I eat. Some of the foods I thought were healthy turned out not to be. Having a sweet tooth doesn't help. Anyhow, I would love to have as much support as I can because doing this alone would not be easy. Thanks everyone!

Hi - welcome!!!! You're doing great by just starting Don't be scared of being here and tracking your food - it's actually very motivating and really does help. It's interesting to see what you put in your body and you'll be pleased at how much better you feel adding the calorie counting to exercise! Keep up the good work and feel free to friend me - we can help each other along this journey!

I am with you on the sweet tooth!! The key is to not totally deprive yourself or you will go on a binge. Allow yourself two desserts a week- I mark it on the calendar. Also, fruit and ice bars are delicious and have no fat. The Smart Ones desserts by Weight Watchers- in the frozen dept. at your grocery store are pretty yummy too and are low in calories. Don't be so hard on yourself- just take it one day at a time- try to eat healthier- salads and fruits- and if you have a bad day- just get back on track the next!! Good luck- Suzanne0
