So I've been cruising around here on different forums and I see every so often someone saying bump. I'm assuming that it's something they want to save or tag or be able to come back to ????? but what am I missing here? Help!

If tagging a post is possible (so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle) how do you do that?

When someone bumps it it usually means that they're interested in the question and want to read everyone's answers. When you write on a post it saves it under "My Topics" so you can keep checking the thread! :)

Yes that is it, at the top of the page there are tags. Home, Recent Post, MyTopics........ if you click on My Topics it will show you the last 25 threads you posted on, makes it easy to find topics you want to go back to.

    "Bump" does two things:

-It gets the thread back onto the "recent posts" page and brings it up higher within a category, which means more people will see and (hopefully) respond to it.

-It also adds the thread to "My topics", which can make it easier to find a thread again.

The threads with the latest posts show at the top of the list. So "bump"ing a thread means to push it up to the top of the list with a post.

Bump is just posting to bump the topic to the top of the forum it's in so it will be seen by more people and hopefully get more activity.

I do it to make sure it goes in "my topics" so I can find it again later.
