Hello,
Just wondering. What are the most effective things to eat after some cardio and weight lifting? I've been eating almonds...about 12 of them. Anything else quick? What do you guys eat?
Thanks.

Whey protein shake.0

Bananas are quick and healthy, only have about 60-70 calories in them and are high in potassium which is good for muscle cramps and things.0

Clif Builder's Protein Bar Peanut Butter0

Greek Yogurt!!!0

Banana or protien shake!0
-
Chocolate milk!!0

I agree with the banana suggestion - I eat one about 45 minutes before a workout, or just after. I also find Vitamin Water Zero to be a really good bounce-back after a workout, especially if it was heavy on cardio. It's got just enough of a boost to get you going, and it's not filled with unnecessary sugar (if you're sure to get the Zero kind).0

I second the chocolate milk!! So delicious and easy and great after a hard workout0

Macadamias and Luna bars. High protein stuff.0

Fruit is great because it is higher in the carbs, which are energy and since you just expended a bunch in your workout a boost of them are nice after. I also try to find something with protein in it - so, something like Greek yogurt is one of my favorites.0

An apple is my usual go to after a work out.0

I always follow up every workout w/whey protein shake (skim milk, whey protein powder and yoplait smoothie mix) 250 cal, 29g protein......0

Yes it's a bit high in sugar, but the benefits usually outweigh that.0 -

Be careful when drinking anything with reduced or zero calories as it contains artificial sugars which can harm your body such as sucralose and aspartame.. There have been studies conduced that stated they harm your brain so I am not sure how they affect weight loss but I have taken them completely out of my body.0
