Undereating during the week won't prevent you from gaining some body fat if you drastically overeat over the weekend. You can gain and lose body fat in small amounts fairly quickly. That's not saying you'll see it on the scale, but overeating is overeating. Chronic undereating followed by binging is considered disordered eating, and it's really the state of mind you'll want to adapt for this lifestyle--it allows you to justify binging by deprivation. If you want to cut an extra 100 calories a day and have an extra 500 on a given day of the week, that won't cause problems. But trying to maintain a huge deficit during the week to eat whatever on the weekends will cause problems in the long run.
You can eat whenever you like before bed. That doesn't effect fat loss/gain.0 -
i wish we could bank calories........ i usually eat no later than 2 hours before i go to bed. recommendation from Bob Green, Oprah's personal trainer.0

I usuall try to eat light the day before or earlier that day if I know that I'm having a big meal.I can be a pretty big social eater. I have known of people eating ligth the next day.
As for eating before bed.........I eat dinner and that's it for the day. My trick is that I brush my teeth. I'm lazy and I don't wanna do it again so i don't eat.0 -
I like the idea of banking calories. I find that when I'm working out a lot - like when I ride my bike or do yard work - I'm not really hungry that day, so I'll create a deficeit. A few days down the road though, I feel like I can't get enough to eat and I'm sluggish. Initially I tried to always stay within the limit, but now I just try to eat healthy foods and not worry about it.0

I kind of had the same question. Yesterday I rode my horse all day and burned over 1300 calories. I still had 900+ left at the end of the day. Today I've gone over by 120 calories. I should be okay right?0

Wow... 1300 calories you lost me there... *drooling*0 -
We rode 10 miles, 4.5 hours, up and down hills through pastures. It was great. If I could do it everyday I would be a tooth pick.0

Oh I wish I could do that! We only just got horses though and they won't be ready to be ridden until at least spring, they're still young . . . they're gorgeous though, I love them already! :smooched: Can't wait to imitate you, Anna!0 -
My 14 mile run yesterday had me at about 1900 calories burned. I went and got sonic. I still finished 1200 calories down for the day.
But I had pizza earlier in the week...0 -
I only have one right now that I ride. I started him this summer and he is doing pretty good. I have an other colt that I will start this winter and I have a 5 month old.0

All I have is a pair of running shoes, a small terrier-maltese cross and a small shiztsu cross. I wouldn't trade my boys for anything though0
