Week before first 5k running schedule?

Hi there, I am running my first 5k on saturday and would like to know what would be a good schedule for the remainder of the week running wise? I don't want to exhaust my legs before saturday, but I need to run this week....so far I ran 4 miles on Monday and was planning on another 4 tomorrow......what should I do for Thursday and Friday?

    rest. u always wanna rest a couple days b4 a race. good luck on ur race!! :flowerforyou:

    I would scale back, do a 2 and a 1. or maybe even just one more run and rest.

    Me too! (only running my first one on Sunday - and it's a trail run)

    Since it's already Tues.... I would only run easy 3 miles tomorrow and walk 2 miles Thurs and take Friday off. Fresh legs are the best if you want to do well.

    I've done a few 5Ks. I think the race goes better, if you push yourself the week before, then take off a few days before the race. I agree with the other people who posted.

    I would do at least a 2 mile run on Thursday if race is Sat...just what I do.
