prunes calories?

So I went to enter the prunes I ate (ingrediants prunes, pitted and sorbate preservative) and the brand I ate isn't listed. Didn't think this would be a big deal as I would just find one with similiar values. As I start to look all the other prunes are about 100 calories for 40 grams. My package says 40 grams is worth 280 calories. i thought this was high when I read it, but now I am so confused. Why would every other entry be for almost 1/3 of what this brand lists? Any ideas. I may call the company and ask them. Thanks

    Possibly added sugar? I like the Sunsweet Gold Label "Ones" individually wrapped prunes. Great taste and texture....only 25 calories each.

    that is what i wondered, but there is no sugar on the ingredient list. Only prunes and the preservative.
