So tonight while lookin thru my scrap book on weight loss i decided to take a regular white sheet of paper and i made squares all on the page big enough to write in. Each square had each fast food, or restraunt name in it. I would go down and write what foods i ate their each time . I went back and looked up each nutrition information on each food intake.. I was suprised by what the calorie intake was.. I think everyone should do this just to see what you would eat and what you could sub for a lower calorie..

That's a great idea! I looked at a few things that I used to eat when I went out and was shocked at how many calories I used to consume at one sitting! One burger at Ruby Tuesdays is over 1200 calories...I've eaten it several times...Anyways, I have a whole new outlook on food for sure so that won't be happening again! lol

I thought it was a terrific idea... because now i know if i go to any of the places ive wrote down then ill know what i can get and what i shouldnt get.. also your favorite restraunts should have a printable nutrition information , that way you can pick your mean out before you get their..
  • I've done that once or twice. I work at a mexican restaraunt, and I used to get nachos all the time, granted I only ate half, but the whole thing is about 1,700 calories. Now I get a taco which is 350 :)

yeah that 350 makes a big difference than the 1700 one... Nachos can be addicting my down fall was extra sour cream ... not a huge fan on tacos unless its a soft one.. im weird i know lol

Yes dining out is a big challenge for me. We were going 2-3 times per week but now once a month. I've been cooking lots of new healthy recipes and measuring what goes onto my plate. I was conditioned to clean my plate and that's a calorie load at most restaurants. Other than major chains, which I avoid, nutrition info isn't available.

The one time we went out for tex-mex I ordered fish tacos, charro beans (soup not refried), only ate 1/3 of the rice and counted 12 chips. It was hard, but I beat it that day.

I've begun cooking enough on Saturday for the whole week. That way it is ready when I am, healthy, cheaper, and good. I've been trying lots of new recipes and replacing bad habits.

Work like it all depends on you and pray like it all depends on God

Good for you! Eating out is definitely tricky. I basically stick to the salads, and then ask they make it without the cheese/dressing and bacon so it can be "clean"! Isn't it awful that we have to customize restaurant orders to make them heathy?

Sushi is a great option. So is Pho.I like Quiznos on road trips.

I really would avoid Fast Food all together. Even the "low cal" stuff is made of processed chemicals, fat and sugar. That's not really food!
