10 month mark

Well today is my ten month anniversary. It was the day before my 35th birthday and I had just received a Wii Fit for my birthday. I was so excited to start, but I knew (because I know me) exercise would not be enough. I needed to track my eating. I COULD NOT do weight watchers again. Don't get me wrong, before I had babies, ww had been my saving grace. On WW I lost 50 pounds...but those 50 pounds came back (and then some, 2 babies and numerous pregnancies later).
I was on my IPHONE under fit and health and I saw MFP. I downloaded the app and signed on the computer as well. It was love at first 'site'. Everything just seemed to click. That was the day that changed my life. I don't mean to be so "dramatic" , but it was like I knew it would work, I just knew it.
The weight came off slow and steady. By the end of the summer I lost 20 pounds. I felt great. I was down from a size 12 to a size 8. I didn't think it was possible that I would be a size 8. I went back to work (being a teacher, I am fortunate enough to be home all summer) and I was afraid that I would fail. I didn't have 2 hours a day to work out. I was afraid of the food influences. But going back to work and everyone saying how "skinny" I was and how good I looked, I guess it kept me motivated.
I signed up and completed my first 5k in October. I did it in 35 minutes. I was proud of that. I actually even cried when I finished. Holidays came and went and I got threw it with a balanced diet (and some CHristmas cookies) and didn't gain any weight.
Now we are in the end of March and I haven't lost much weight. But, I am happily wearing a size 6 (I even have a pair of 4's that fit). I am down 30 pounds and a lot of inches. I feel great. I see pictures of myself that I can't believe are me.
I still have a belly, and I know that food will always be something I have to watch. But I feel great. I made a change that I have stuck with. I am so proud of myself. I feel healthy and happy.
I thank you all. THanks you for supporting me. I know I would have not done this without my friends on MFP. Reading your posts, and status' keep me motivated and keep me going daily. 6 weeks until my first half marathon. I say first, because I plan on doing more. I plan on keeping my body healthy for the rest of my life. I will be an inspiration for my sons. I plan on running 5k's with them when they get old enough and maybe even someday doing marathons with them.
Thank you for your help and for your support.
