Last week I lost 2 lbs and was so motivated and confident...according to the scale this morning I have gained 2.4lbs. I am not sure how or why. I drink 4-5liters of water a day, try and watch my sodium intake. Its not my time of the month and I don't feel bloated. I also doubt its gained muscle.....any suggestions?

Ditch the scale...it plays tricks on your mind. Use multiple assessments of your progress. Measurements, clothes fit, Body Fat assessments, before and after photos...etc etc
Don't be discouraged...I weighed myself after a month and found I GAINED 3 lbs, yet my measurements are smaller and my clothes are fitting better.
Also be sure you are eating enough. 1200 NET.0 -

Sometimes 10-40under 1200 does that really make a difference? I'd rather be alittle under than over???0 -

If what you're doing isn't working, it's usually time to try to shake things up a bit. Try to be a little over 1200 net every day and see if that helps.0 -
Weigh again tomorrow and maybe the next day, too, to see if the "gain" is real or just temporary.0

The scale is the greasy car salesman of the weight loss world, at any given time your weight can fluctuate between 2-7 pounds on water weight alone, and no there is not always a perfectly logical reason for it. Once you start drinking enough water the body will initially hold onto some of it, and if you workout even more so. Do not stress it will come off, remember 1 litre is 4 cups so 5 is 20 cups of water a day, that is a lot so I think you answered your own question there.0 -
You actually don't have that much to lose (9 lbs) I would set your goals to 0.5 per week instead of going for 1 or 2 lbs per week. The smaller you are the harder it is to support a large deficit to lose 1 to 2 lbs per week. And I learned that from experience myself.
What ever you do, just stick with it! A lot of people get discouraged because they didn't lose the weight they wanted in a week and they quit and never see the end result of their work. You will get there, just don't expected to happen so fast. The slower the better. It stays off longer0 -
Thanks I really appreciate everyones thoughts..........
I'm going to cut back on my water...which is gonna be tough since I drink a whole liter by 630am at the gym and almost another after yoga at night, but I am going to try.
Also I just reduced my weight loss per week to 1lb instead of 2lbs, I just have to figure out how to get more calories.0
