Supplements - Weight Lifting for Muscle Gain

What supplements if any do you guys take when lifting for muscle gain. I am finishing up my 2nd round of P90X and have actually been very pleased with my results this time. However, now I am looking to bulk up a little. I am thinking about taking Whey Protein in the morning, No-Xplode prior to workout, and Casein Protein before bed. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Those are certainly a step in the right direction- the only thing I would suggest is to take Whey AFTER your workouts. This will help deliver BCAAs to your muscles to spur recovery and growth. You can take Whey with other meals, but if you are going to take it once per day, the most ideal time would be post-workout.0

that's good advice from Mayor West...if you want to add a second scoop first thing in the morning is another good time to take it.
a preworkout like NO-Explode are pretty much a personal preference, but imo there are a lot better options out there. but if it works for you then keep using it.

What preworkout would you suggest? I haven't yet began taking these just getting ready to come April 11th. Currently - I am taking mutli vitamin and fish oil so I have that covered. Take whey protein about 3 times a week. I know my protein intake needs to increase. Currently getting around a 120 -150 grams a day.0 -

those are 3 i would recommend over NO Explode, but it's all personal preference in the end
NO-Explode just didn't feel good during and after my workout.
i've also just taken a 200mg caffeine tab before a workout and had just as good a workout at a fraction of the cost.
if you can afford it calorie wise i'd take 2 shakes a day. one after your workout and a casein shake before bed. on days you don't workout just have the 2nd shake as a smaller 'meal'
idealy i try to get 240 grams of protein a day (1g per pound of bodyweight) but if i get over 200 i'm happy with it. it all depends on your goals though. you have lost 30 lbs so far so what you're doing is obvously working for you.0 -
I avoid fake food. Eat clean, eat more calories than you burn.0
