I have an opportunity in front of me, but am skeptical. Has anyone heard of Herbalife? If so, what do you think about it?

I have a friend who does it, and swears by it. However, from what I've heard, it sounds like a bit of a pyramid scheme that's been altered to last longer. She definitely lost weight doing it and feels healthier and more confident, but also feels pressured to keep doing it and expand her "downline." I'd say avoid it, use the tools and support on this site to get in shape naturally.0

I know someone who does it and to be honest with you, you will be popping a pill for every single little thing...AVOID0

Been there, done that. Tried it years ago and had some results...but as soon as I couldn't afford it anymore and stopped using it...the results were reversed. I personally am enjoying relearning how to eat and live a healthy life without any help from pills, etc. But to each his own, and if you wish to try it, good luck!

Sorry to break it to you bluntly but there is no quick fix to losing weight.
The few times in my life that I gained 10-15lbs I would always try a fad diet or something similar and they are only short term solutions.
I have lost 45lbs of baby weight by almost RE-WIRING my brain. I have had to learn a whole new way of eating and worked out at the gym like a MOFO.
It's the only way. Blood, sweat and tears.
Worth it in the end though and a much better sense of achievement than a quick fix.0 -
Years ago, before the ban on ephedra, I tried Herbalife. Worked like a charm! I lost on average 1lb per day. I didn't have much to lose and lost it all in my first month's supply. I kept the weight off without dieting or use of pills, etc., until i gave birth to twins (about 3 years later). A couple years after that, I tried it again...and again...and a 3rd time. It did not work for anything. That's because of the ban on ephedra and Herbalife no longer contained it. It appears that the gov't lifted the ban on certain forms of ephedra, but they are not the same and do not work like the original ephedra. It's unfortunate, I'd love to take it again but only if it contained ephedra.
Good luck in your journey

My husband and I were distributors. We enjoyed the nutritional benefits. The shakes are to DIE for. But in all honesty, there are an awful lot of 'phone meetings' (at least 3 times per week) that were required. There was a lot of pressure to get people under us, even tho all we wanted to do was be distributors so that we could get the discount on products. They were always pushing for us to become Supervisors.
In this day and age and this economy, I would hold as tight to your money as possible. Because the $250 +/- it will take for you to sign up as just the beginning. I can honestly say that we SPENT way more than we MADE. No questions......
Good luck. I hope this has helped you, even a little. :drinker:
Oh, and when I say "way more" I really mean WWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY MORE! :sad:0 -
Just a little clarification. I am not looking into Herbalife to lose weight or anything. It's a business oppotunity. To become a distributer.0

Great post. This is pretty much how most of those type of companies work....and you are SO right about holding onto your money in this economy! You can spend way less on long runs/walks outside...
Did I say way less? I meant WAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY less!! LOL0 -

That's what I was afraid of. I have done Candle Lite, Melaleuca, and other things like them. I NEED an income & can't leave home:grumble:
Anyone know of a legitimate home based employment or business that does NOT involve selling to friends, calling random people, or pyramids?0 -

They actually required you to be on phone meetings 3 times a week? I'm all for personal development, but 3 times a week seems a bit excessive. The company I am with has calls several times a week, but they are not mandatory and you if you miss one you can just download it to you ipod. I use these for my drive time university.0 -

Well to be honest most companies in today's society whether they are home based or not are pyramids. The idea is to find one that you believe in and run with it.0 -
Well, Thank you everyone. Guess I will pass on this one & keep looking:ohwell:0
