If you're looking for a change, try this yummy tofu burger.
You can eat them as you would a hamburger (buns, tomato, lettuce, cheese...) but I like it on it's own.
It's even good cold or hot! Try mixing in cummin or hot peppers, yummy too!

Tofu Burgers (12 servings)

1 lbs firm tofu, crumbled
1 small carrot, grated
1/2 green pepper, finely chopped
1/2 onion, finely chopped
2 tsp vegetable oil
3 eggs, beat
2 tbsp whole wheat flour
2 tbsp soy sauce
1/4 cup parmesan
1/2 cup bread crumbs
salt & pepper to taste

Mix all ingredients then form into patties. Add oil to frying pan and fry until golden brown.

    These sound great!
Did you drain the tofu first? I would like to try this recipe and want it to have the right texture.
    Thanks!

Yes, I emptied the 'juice' from the packages, put the tofu in a large bowl and crumbled it with my hands :)
It's almost fun.. like playing in dirt when we were young:happy:

Thanks, Soooze, I use tofu a lot and really love it. Can't wait to try this recipe! When I make roasted or sauteed tofu, I cut it into little squares and squeeze them with a kitchen towel. Or sometimes I cut them into slices and tuck them in a kitchen towel and lay a dictionary on top until it's really dry (this helps to soak up a marinade). I probably should have asked you if it was "pressed" instead of "drained", but you answered my question anyway :) I also make a tofu ricotta, and I do it the way you described for this recipe. Thanks for the reply! I'll try to post after I make these next week.
