I'm Deedee and I'm new to "this stuff." Fact is, I finally have a beautiful healthy baby which I am absolutely thankful for but I suffer the baby blues. I only gained 25 pounds in pregnancy, but since the birth, I've gained another 25, and I don't know exactly how or why (but I know you can guess). It saddens me to see myself in pictures with my baby because of the way I look. I don't even want to go outside anymore because I'm so ashamed of my weight gain. I thought I'd give this strategy a try; I'm definitely moving outside of my comfort zone. Anyone interested in sharing their stories--successes and failures-- and encouragement? Thanks.

Good for you for reaching out. I've battled with depression/mood/hormone stuff all my life coupled with emotional eating. Good times! lol

The thing that has helped me most is exercise; whether it's yoga in my living room, a gentle walk or a hardcore workout, nothing helps my mood more. It's a great routine to establish now with your child, so that fitness and health are a natural part of their, and your life.

Hang in and feel free to add me as a buddy.
  • Hi! Feel free to add me. I'm in the same boat as you...I did good with pregnancy weight gain. It was the post-baby weight that I'm trying to lose! Of course, the baby in question is now 2 so it's past time I got off my tush to do this. :blushing: Best wishes in your journey!
  • Hi my name is Danielle, I have actually come across this site as a assignment in a nutrition class but am so thankfull I did. I am a mother of 5 children and have always been around the same weight but after my last two which were twins i had a harder time getting rid of my baby belly, since then i have worked a little bit at filling it in you could say. I feel i only need to really lose about twenty pounds but the weight is not even the tip of my challenge. I am on my own personal rampage to make sure my family is healthy and eating right, my children are showing signs of being on the larger size build and weight wise and I want the best for them as I am sure all of us do, so I am on the start of changing from boxed to fresh foods, home grown instead of store bought, our eggs instead of wal marts things like that is what my large focus is on for my family and Again I would also like to be in better shape so I can set an example for my children and it be a good one they can grow from. So if your interested in my rampage and want to help each other along in the fight for the right to be alright then you can buddy me :) Good Luck with whatever your goal may be :):)

Hey DeeDee! We're all in this thing together, so there's nothing to be ashamed of. I've gained 50 lbs in the last year, so I can kind of relate about looking at myself in pictures. I'm here to offer support in any way I can. Feel free to add me as a friend, and we'll support each other! Good luck with your goals.
