I have already done my morning workout and would usually end it with a Leslie sansone 3 mile walk but I am going to take my daughters to the zoo today and I normally do 5+ miles according to my HRM and burn a lot of calories. should I log that in? Does it really count as excersing?

yeah it's exercise!! that's how i started out my journey (walking with my kids) i lost my first 30lbs that way.
  • If that zoo trip is not accounted for by your activity level, then I would count it. You can always lowball it if you feel guilty for some reason. ;)

If you use an HRM/ pedometer etc. log it. If you are guestimating, (or if it were me) I usually don't.
  • If your activity level is set to "sedentary" I'd say count it. Especially if you're carrying a backpack, pushing a stroller, pulling a wagon...it's amazing how much stuff my family used to have to bring for a day at the zoo!

I sure would count it. Anytime I move around more than usual I will count it. Like when I clean the house for example.

It most certainly does count! I even log my housework when I'm doing extensive cleaning!

If you were wearing a Bodybugg throughout the day it would certainly count all of your activity so why shouldn't you do the same?!?!?! It absolutely counts!
