Spaghetti Squash

So I tried Spaghetti Squash tonight for the very first time. I was both surprised and disappointed at the same time. With the sauce on it, it was VERY good, and I will say, a definite substitute for pasta!!

However, I was a bit disappointed in how crunchy it was! Everyone who told me to eat it never said it was crunchy :( ... it wasn't off-putting, but I guess just disappointing -- I was hoping for a bit more "pasta-like" texture.

I sliced it in half, scooped the seeds and baked it at 375* for 60 minutes. Do any of you know a better way to cook it that may lend a more tender "noodle"?? :)

crunchy, eh? well that doesn't sound good! did you spray the cut sides of the squash with cooking spray or anything like that?

Sounds like yours was undercooked. That's happened to me before--it's much better when cooked until tender. I would just put it in for a bit longer.

I usually cut it in half, scoop out the seeds, put the halves on the plate with a little bit of water, put wrapping on it, and place it in the microwave for 20 minutes. The squash comes out steamed and it is very tender

Yep, definitely under cooked. Pop it in the micro for 10 mins on high after the oven. It'll be good as gold.

Thanks guys! I also heard I can poke a couple holes with a knife and put it in the slow cooker for 8-10 hours.

I'm just not a huge fan of microwaving things :(
