Two Month Progress - WOW

Last year, I started buying larger clothes. My big boy clothes were loose fitting at first; and eventually I did grow into them (too much in fact). In January/February this year, those clothes became too snug, so I went to the scale to see what was happening. I weighed in at 296 pounds! The most I ever did in my life.
I knew I had to start doing something, so a search for an iPhone app began. I was looking to log my meals. That was my first exposure to MFP! Shortly after, I discovered the website and I gotta say, the success so far has been surprising and in several different areas.
Learning
The first measure of success was my education. In the past, doing something according to a program without the understanding of why or how it works didn't work for me. Though, weight was lost, it was found again (and then some).
Losing Weight
I'm seeing a wonderful difference on the bathroom scale. The expectation of losing 1 to 2 lbs a week is awesome! I'm seeing it, and many times, I've seen excess weekly weight loss. (I do have a realistic view, and believe this is because of my current weight/size. When I become less gravitationally challenged, I expect to average 1 lb per week.)
Energy
This is incredible and almost shocking. The amount of energy gain in the past two months is incredible. I'm playing stronger on the tennis court. Also, my energy and desire in other areas has increased significantly.
Clothes Fitting Better
This is the best feeling and area of success. Those big boy clothes are now very loose. Today, I'm actually wearing the clothes I wore before those big boy clothes. In two months, I've dropped several notches on my belt. This is a big deal to me.
A picture is worth a 1,000 words; there's a picture of my belt (yeah corny) in my photos. (Still haven't learned how to post an image.)

Hi Doug!!! Congrats on your hard work! Isn't this an awesome deal! The support and friends that I have made here have pulled me through at times when I just wanted to quit! I have logged every bite....yes, a hard thing for me to do is to be "honest" about my food. I have not made "exercise" such a important part of my life since I trained for Ms. Fitness WAY back in the early 90's... Anyway, thank you so much for sharing your story of success for this news is what pushes my buttons to continue to move forward.
Sincerely,
Shelia0 -
Huge congratulations on your success!
I'm also finding that MFP is the thing that is really making a difference to my weight loss.
I've also been on here for 2 months, and I love it!0 -
