I found this interesting but never gave it serious thought. I just like tea with or without milk. Anyone else into this theory?

High points:
Tea contains high levels of compounds that combat the absorption of fat, Japanese scientists have found. These compounds, called theaflavins and thearubigins, stopped weight gain when given to rats on a high-fat diet, the journal Nutrition reported this month.

A new study shows that tea can help promote weight loss -There is a catch, though: no milk or sugar in the tea.

I drink green tea a lot with nothing in it. It's delicious and boosts your metabolism!

There seems to be quite a lot of research that says green tea is helpful - would be interesting if it extended to "normal" tea as well. But without milk I'm actually not sure I could drink normal tea.... My colleagues and I are going to start a green tea challenge in the office next week - studies seem to suggest that you need at least three cups a day so that's what we're going to aim for. Too bad it tastes so vile. LOL.
  • I just recently picked up a box of green tea to help with my loss! So yes, I kind of buy into it, but the proof will show in the pudding right :) Hey if its going to keep me from craving crap I am all for it! A teaspoon of honey does wonders instead of sugar!

Be careful with the caffeine though - this could counter your sleep efforts which will hinder your loss in the long run. I'm not sure if they make a decaf green tea, but I know personally I don't drink anything caffeinated (coffee, tea or soda) after 12pm except on Friday or Saturday where it doesn't matter if I'm up a little later, but even then only once in awhile.
