Sorry if this is a dumb question...but I read on the boards about "clean eating" and not sure really, what that means. THANKS!

I basically means to eat foods as close to it's natural state as possible, nothing processed and the ingredient list of something should only be a few items. No refined sugars.

I also call it eating with real food.....buy your own veggies and proteins and make your own food, don't rely on a can or box or jar or frozen version of a meal. Also, kick out refined flours, stick to whole grains as much as possible (no white pasta, no white rice, no white bread...instead I eat quinoa pasta, millet instead of rice and 100% sourdough rye bread).

It takes some time to establish a cooking routine. I tend to do most of it on the weekends so I don't have to come home from work and cook. On Sundays I make a big pot of soup that I look forward to every night and also I make a pot of steel-cut oats that I prepare my breakfasts from during the week.

    good luck and happy eating!

For me it means no "ingredient list" at all. With very few exceptions, if it comes out of a box or package it is processed to some degree. Clean eating has changed my life (and not just my waistline).

I do a lot of cooking on the weekends too! I mainly "eat clean" but I do buy all natural (no chemical ingredients) breakfast cereal, crackers, etc. from time to time when the craving hits.
