I KNOW there is a thred out there already, but it is over a year old.

Does anyone have issues with this... my docs told me 15/60....but i do maybe 10/30..

But lately i havent done it all.

Anyone else find this requirement hard?? If so, how did you deal with it?

No I don't find it hard, I have a sleeve not a Lap Band but the requirements are the same. Kaiser recommends 30/30. I always do the 30 after and at least 15 before and not a problem unless you don't chew well enough or eat too much or too fast.

At support group last night we discussed this! When lap band first came out they did believe in not drinking while you eat, but since then more studies have been done and they believe that you should sip while eating. She explained that they first believed that you were washing your food out of the pouch and that would cause you ti not keep your feeling of fullness! Now they believe that the feeling actually comes from the food passing the nerve that the band is around. And that if you take sips it will help wash the food down and help prevent slippage. But you should still be trying to take one bite every one to two minutes and then a sip afterwards if needed!! But like anything else every doctor has there own opinion!
  • I am doing the 30/30 still but can see what you mean about sipping water while eating. If I find something to be be too dry i will sip a bit and be done. it seems to kick in my own natural saliva again.

I find that my band is so tight that I have to sip a little while I eat. My other struggle is getting enough water though out the day. The band is not a cure all I have learned. I still have to diet.
