No running for me either. We had bootcamp this am and did a circuit workout. Running tomorrow and Sunday though.

I am doing a 5k on Sunday. It is called the Pumpkin Run and is at a Cemetary and the course is supposed to be lined with pumpkins. This will be my second 5k. I am training for a half marathon in February. That seems like a very long distance at this point. But I am very excited about the training.

Hi runners! I'm going to do Legs & Back today but no calf raises. I'm not supposed to do them. And Ab RipperX.

    Have a good one!

Legs and Back for me too, today. No running this week. It feels strange.

Happy workouts to all of you, and I hope your weather is better than ours: cold and wet :grumble:

Heading out of town for the weekend! Best of luck for all of you weekend racers
  • I ran 30 min on the treadmill on the hill program this morning. I pulled my quad on Sunday (fell while roller skating with my Girl Scouts--I refuse to admit my age and give up these childhood activities!) so I had to start a little bit slower. But I got it done and felt okay. I also did a quick weight lifting. Have a great weekend!

    GO PHILS!
  • It's raining all day here and my hip is still hurting. I'm resting it until there isn't pain. What I am NOT doing but should be doing is stretching. I will stretch today. And I need to do a bit of strengthening. CORE, upper body....

And I'm going to Helen, GA for Oktoberfest this weekend. I really want to stick to healthy eating.

No running for me today. BUT I FINALLY QUIT POOPING EVERY 20 MINUTES!!!! Sorry if TMI.

Maybe a change in the competitive running for "just running for me and a healthy baby."

I have fallen out of my training mode for running, so I was only able to run for two intervals today, 2 mins and then 1 min. :frown: I'll have to get back at it! I enjoy running! Gotta make my lungs cooperate.

I haven't decided today what I will do. I upped my cardio this week and I feel a bit tired today. I am thinking of a little nap and then a run..

Otherwise I will chalk it up to a rest day and get back up and going first thing tomorrow! :smooched:

    Hey everyone!

I just got off work and FINALLY bought a REAL pair of running shoes! I have been running in some very old Nike Pegasus, and it was enough support for my arch. I bought some Asics 2130's in blue...they offer support but aren't as rigid as guidance shoes. I'm so excited to run!

:grumble: But it's pouring rain and freezing, argh!

I will probably do 2-3 miles on the dreadmill tonight after I lift (back & triceps).

Did 4.5 miles this morning before the cold rain hit. I love this time of year minus the ickey precip. Will try for five tomorrow. Good luck to all racers this weekend...

Cool! I only bought the blue ones because they were on sale LOL. They were marked down to $80, and I get a 25% discount since I work there, so they were only $63! I think it's going to take some adjustment because I've *never* had a shoe with proper arch support. It feels really different, and my right foot likes them a little more than my left lol. Granted, I haven't run on a dreadmill or track in probably a year, so that felt different too. I can't wait to run on the pavement Sunday!

Hi girls! I didn't write in yesterday... having a brand new baby occupies my mind sometimes!!! I ran 6 miles pushing the baby jogger yesterday (yay!) but today I was pretty lazy. I didn't do much except walk my dog to the mail box and then walk around Costco. Hopefully this weekend will be better. When my little ones gets his shots on Nov 4th, I'll be able to take him to the gym and I'll be back at my exercise routine for sure!

I had the blues ones last time and needed a change! I got mine for $70 last time from http://www.kellysrunningwarehouse.com They have good prices and usually either free or only $5 flat rate shipping! Enjoy your new shoes!

I don't know if anyone is still reading this blog today but I am a bit discouraged. I am training for a 10K (my first) and it has been a stretch for me. Switched from interval running to running with a few breaks a couple of weeks ago and really felt like I was making progres. But now I have a stomach bug and don't know if I should push it and run tomorrow - 6.5 miles - or take it off. We only have 4 more weeks of training. Any ideas! :frown:

    Take it easy!

I read a great quote on RW today: "It's in the bank". Meaning, all your training is in the bank, it's stored in your body, it's there, waiting. Taking a day off to rest doesn't 'withdraw' a day's worth of training. It just adds an extra day of recuperation. You'll only depress your immune system by running. Relax!:flowerforyou:

If you are sick, take it off. You have 4 weeks. How long has your longest training run been so far? If you're planning a 6.5 mile run tomorrow then you're obviously ready for the 10K. See how you feel on Sunday and if you're up for running then. Hope you feel better!

Thanks so much. I got up this morning to go and just couldn't make it! I was so afraid of losing ground! You really encouraged me!

Thanks Jess. Last week was 6 miles which I ran about 3/4 of and then walked. I don't care if I have to take walk breaks as long as I can do the who 10K. I didn't run today and now I don't feel so guilty about it!
    Have a great weekend
