Does anyone else have this problem?

Since I have started MFP I have noticed a huge drop in my appetite. I eat breakfast and then I am just not hungry at lunch time, so I wait two hoursto eat lunch, but I feel like I am shoving it down my throat and forcing myself to eat. Same with dinner. Is this normal? What's going on? Am I doing this right?

it hasnt so much since ive been watching my food intake, but in general im rarely hungry and i feel im forcing myself to eat a lot of the time, just to get to 1200.. the more ive stuck with it, the easier it has gotten. especially on days ive added in some intense exercising.. i try to eat something every 3-4 hours and usually end up with 1700 cals between three meals and a snack or two0

It's what I like to refer to as "the honeymoon period." As soon as you become aware of calories our brains are uber sensitive to them and say "no, don't give those to me!" Don't worry, unfortunately, this is short lived and pretty soon you'll not have this problem at all.0

I eat very light lunches but I still have this problem with dinner.0

Are you exercising? I work out an hour everyday and am ALWAYS hungry.0

Same thing here , after the first few days I am just not hungry. The more healthy choices I make the less hungry I am. Love it , myself I have "felt" hungry my entire life so this is a new thing for me.0

It depends on what i eat. I try to eat a lighter breakfast so this way I will be ready for lunch.. I don't usually eat dinner though0

I think it's all mental. When you start to track how hard it is to burn calories, we are more conscious of what we eat.
By the end of the day i am normally fatigue because i have not been eating. But I have my magic energy pills for that. Lol.0 -
I'm the same way, but I still eat a snack at 10 am, and then lunch at 12pm. If I didn't have the snack mid-morning, I would probably overstuff myself at lunch. This way, I eat smaller major meals along with 2 snacks.0

I second what you said.0 -
I am having this issue start just now, when I am 2 pounds away from goal, so for me it isn't a honeymoon period. I work out 7 days a week too.....I am hungry in the morning, but it seems as if lunch and dinner are harder for me.0

Sometimes, yes. It's worse on days that I don't work out.
I had really bad eating habits before starting here-grazing, essentially, mainly on carbs. Now that I'm more careful about what and when I eat, I frequently find myself not all that hungry.
I know that will change though as I become more capable of longer periods of exercise.0 -
Maybe you're eating food that actually does more for you, as opposed to empty calories, so you feel fuller and more satisfied while eating less.
Most unhealthy people tend to be malnourished. Even though they may be eating more calories, the food they're eating has no nutritional value. So their bodies are starving for nutrients.
Personally, I've never had this probably. I'm always looking for what I'm going to eat next. I love food.0 -
I.....never have this problem lol0

I am exercising daily, and I really do like food as well (obviously ). I hope this is not a honeymoon period, I like not craving food. I am just concerned that it is not normal. I am starting to feel that it is okay though...0

I eat 5 small meals a day all between 200-300 calories and I've noticed by doing that I'm never starving...which helps A LOT with making healthy decisions. I've gotten past the physical cravings now that I'm in the 4th month of my journey but I've found my mental cravings have ramped up, like wanting to snack even though I'm not hungry. I also find that on my personal training days in the gym I have to force myself to eat dinner because it just works the hunger right out of me!! One of the biggest things I have learned so far is to look at food as a source of fuel for my body and not as a source of pleasure. That really helps me focus on what I'm eating and helps me make sure I get what my body needs calorie wise.0

I have this....but I think it has to do with what I'm eating. Don't get me wrong I still eat stuff I like, like BLT's, Steak etc....but then its mostly surrounded by veggies & fruit...which I'm less thrilled about. So sometimes I think my brain decides its not hungry because its like "Eat a banana"....nah I'd rather not eat than eat that lol....now if that banana had been like say a plate of salty delicious Chinese food...I bet I would want to eat lunch. lol
Its hard to explain, but I think that's why I'm less hungry now than I used to be.0 -
I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one that is going through this....it has been extremely hard for me to eat my calories the past few days. I think the reason this is because this site has made me more aware of what I eat and how many calories I was eating..now I am more cautious on what I eat and nothing sounds good to me so therefore I don't want to eat or look at food..plus I am at my highest weight ever and it is so depressing...and I think if I eat I will gain...don't get me wrong thou I do eat my calories because I don't want to put my body in a starvation mode...so thanks for posting this it helped me to know I am not alone on this journey......0
