Shop along the walls

While at the grocery store recently, I realized that with all of the changes we have made recently, we buy almost everything we eat now along the walls of the grocery store - produce, meat, dairy. This led me to realize that most of the processed foods are packed in the center of the store on the shelves.

So.... gravitate to the walls

It also just occurs to me - the store layout is really indicative of the whole business of prepackaged foods - companies put money into producing prepackaged foods and want to recoup their costs and make a profit. The longer the product is available for sale, the more likely they will make money. If prepackaged foods required refrigeration, then it wouldn't last as long. Also - watch the coupons - the highest valued coupons are for prepackaged foods - because they are more likely to recoup their costs.

The whole system is tuned this way. Kinda makes me feel like a rebel
