When you exercise, your calories increase but does that also increase the other things? Like sodium..fat..carbs...or should you still try to stay around the number given?

  • I was wondering that too. I think that if you are eating more then it makes sence that it would...

It increases the big three (carbs, fat, and protein) but the others stay the same - no more sodium for you!

All of my dietary items on MFP go up automatically when I add my exercise calories - sodium included.

When you workout, you sweat and lose sodium - thus you need more. I think it kind of makes sense...

Just switch things around so that you don't see sodium. Then you can eat as much sodium as you want.

It could be not increasing sodium because you have custom goals, maybe? Not sure if you do or not but I know I customized my goals and my sodium does not increase with exercise. MFP sets your sodium using standard accepted guidelines but for me (with HBP) I set my sodium to much lower and it doesn't go up with exercise. Other I do eat a little more sodium on heavy exercise days than my "normal" goal of 1600 mgs a day.

Thanks, Shore. I did customize the fiber intake. :flowerforyou:
