Hi Everyone,

So working out is easy. Sticking to a diet is incredibly hard for me - my goal is to lose 25 lbs and it all starts with my diet. So - I'm not one to ask for some help but anyone got any good ideas on how to keep disciplined with my diet?

Thank you!!

My advice on recruiting help would be to send those who are willing to be supportive a friend request (add me if you'd like), and make your food diary public (meaning we can see what you are eating). That way we can look at what you are eating and make little progressive suggestions to get you on the right track.

Well the first thing I would do is take all the "bad" foods out of the house. It also helps to pre-plan your meals, at least a day in advance. Hope this helps, and good luck!

Be sure to eat "real" food -and not a lot of prepackaged food. It takes time and effort but you can eat TONS of "real" food - salad, veggies, fruit, whole grains.
Don't let yourself get too hungry. That is my downfall - I'm starving, no snack - I eat unhealthy cause I just have to eat.
Figure out what you want to eat.
Losing weight isn't punishment - It's a chance to lead a healthier longer life!

I know what keeps me on track is working out consistently. I find it much harder to eat unhealthy foods when I've worked my tail off in the gym (or at home). Drink TONS of water and maybe even find a meal replacement shake to replace your lunch with.

Biggest thing is to get the calories your body needs and not go over.

Also, since food is our "fuel", technically we can run on bad fuel, BUT it won't allow us to perform at an optimal level. It's up to you if you want to put the "93 octane equivalent" in your body (BEST!) or the "89" (good/fair) or the "87" (not the best, but sufficient).

Honestly, I'm in the "89" right now. It's a drastic improvement from my watered down 87 that I was giving my body before MFP! :o)

    Best of luck!!
