I need serious help about scales!!

I really would like to lose about 20-40 lbs. I started using the wii fit, and it said I weighed about 165 pounds, and I was excited because that was like ten pounds less than I expected. So I was confident in my weight loss, and I feel like I have lost a pound in about a week. But, I weighed myself today using an actual scale.. and to my suprise.. It said that I weighed 177 in one room, and 176 in another.. So then I frantically searched the internet on how reliable the wii balance board is and everyone said that it is extremely accurate and it's generally only like a pound off from a normal scale. So, now I am completely confused on what to believe and I don't feel any motivation anymore about losing weight. My goal was only a pound a week because I did not think that 165 was a bad weight, but now that I think that I weigh way more I feel like I need to kick it up several notches. Basically, I need to know what the reliable source is!! Can anyone help me out?

borrow your neighbours/sister/mums/friends scale and get a 3rd opinion?0

I think as long as you weight using the same thing you will be able to accurately track your weight loss. And as long as you can see you are losing it should keep you motivated!0

I'v been using the Wii Balance Board as well. I've found it to be less hopeless than my actual scales (which I think are out by about 1.5kg)0

I don't know how your Dr's office or health dept is, but with mine, I can walk in and ask for a weight check... as long as they aren't busy, it only takes a second and there's no charge. You could call your Dr's office and ask about it.... you know they're scales have to be accurate.0

just stick to using one scale. whether its the Wii board scale or a bathroom scale. Plus I find using a scale on a hard surface and not on carpet makes a world of difference. Also get a measuring tape to measure ur inches. Sometimes the scale can be ur enemy in this weight loss journey!0

Scales are funny like that. I suggest picking one scale and sticking to it. Regardless of what the weight says, you will still know what you lost. When I originally started this journey I had one of those spring scales. When I got a digital scale, I got on both one after the other and found the digital scale was 8 lbs more. It was a little annoying to think I weighed 8 lbs more but at the same time, it didn't change how much I lost, my starting number was just different.0
