I say any workout is better than no workout. Do it when it fits into your schedule. We all have crazy schedules... at least I do. Theres NO way I'm gettin up any earlier to work out when I already get up at 4:45. I just know myself... and it aint happenin. I try to squeeze one in when I get off work. On my days off though... different story. Go whenever I feel like it.0

I agree. Usually if I have to work or when I have class I'll do it when I get home in the afternoons. Otherwise, if I have the time, I try to do it in the morning because I like to "get it out of the way" lol. I also need to eat something before I work out, so if I go in the morning I have a light breakfast -- today I just had some plain cereal and orange juice -- and I'm ok.0 -
Everyone is different
I personally work out in the morning, but I can't eat before I work out or I feel nauseous, if I do eat it has to be something small like a Banana! - Some of my friends have other things that they can't eat before working out like Almonds, meat or eggs!
I used to work out after work at around 8pm - but I dont have time for that anymore. Instead I now work out all through out the day. 2x on my 15min breaks, during lunch (1hr), and before work if I get here early enough (anywhere from 20mins-1hr 1/2).
You really have to do what works for your body and your schedule!
I hope you figure something out ^^ Best of luck!0 -
I like first thing in the morning. I can get through my workouts without breakfast though. I will have an energy drink first.
Would an energy drink work for you? It might give you enough energy to get your workout done and stave of hunger enough!
Hope that helps!!!0 -
This past week I worked out twice a day - I would get up in the morning a half hour before hubby and do a 30 minute/2 mile walk (with leslie Sansone), then make his breakast, pack his lunch and then make me a good breakfast - by then I was nice and ready to eat (I always had a glass of milk after the work out though. Then when he gets home in the afternoon we were doing the same work out as I did in the morning. On the weekends we usually mix it up - yesterday we did the 20 minute/1 mile walk with LS then we did stuff on the elliptical and just kept the heart rate up to make it an even 30 minutes. Today we are taking day off; this coming week I will start doing the 20 minute/1 mile in the morning, the 30 minute/2 mile when he gets home and in the middle of the day will try to do some elliptical or walking to music or something.0

Obviously work out whenever you want. I've had the best weight loss success when I get in 2 workouts. 1 when I first wake up to get my metabolism going. Then I wait at least 1 hr before eating. And then 1 after I get off work (usually around 8 PM). I don't eat after that one since it's so late.
The general rule of thumb is that if you want your body to use the stored fat cells to replenish the calories you burned, then don't eat for 1-2 hrs. When you eat, make sure that you eat lean protein and veggies. I def don't eat carbs until at least 2 hrs after I work out. They are the easiest for your body to break down so you should be mindful of eating them around workouts. Don't want to waste that hard work just for your body to break down carbs0 -
Fit it in when you can. Doing it is what is important! I workout around 9:30am everyday. The time does vary, but I try to get it in before my 2 year old & I need to get my daughter off the school bus at noon. On days that I plan on going out in the morning I wake up early to workout. I find that if I wait until the afternoon it's easier for me to skip it. I don't want to skip it, so for me it's best to workout before 11am!0

I work out right after dinner (on weeknights) while hubby puts the munchkin to bed. Never had a problem. It's probably a trial and error thing for each person. Try it when it fits in your schedule. If you find you have issues right after eating, see if you can find time in your schedule earlier or later and try that.
For the concerns regarding burning food you just ate rather than stored fat... Google "Digestive process time-line". It takes a little longer than you think for your body to process food into something usable.0
