I pulled a recipe off skinnytaste.com for dinner. The calories on the site say 205 per serving. But when I put the recipe into mfp, it comes up with 300 calories per serving. Which one should I go by?

If you know that your amounts are true for the products you are using, use those. You are most likely using different products, so your numbers will vary.

Wow - that's a big difference! I"m having a skinnytaste dish tonight - perhaps I need to enter it as well and see if it's accurate (Greek chicken w/artichokes and feta).

I don't trust any preset recipe calories. They all use specific brands and you can't guarantee that you'll be able to get those same ingredients when you make your version. I've had recipes come out both higher than what the original said as well as lower.

Just think about when you shop and read nutrition labels and how much they vary. If a recipe calls for one link of chicken sausage, you can find chicken sausage links that vary from 100 calories to 300 (or even more). So imagine how much a difference that will make if the person that made the original recipe used the 100 calorie one and you use, say, a 200 calorie one.
